Weekly Devotional

Take a moment each week to pause, reflect, and draw closer to God through His Word. Our Weekly Devotional is designed to encourage, challenge, and strengthen you as you navigate the realities of everyday life. Each devotional explores a different aspect of faith, offering biblical reflection, practical encouragement, and opportunities to consider how God’s Word speaks into your circumstances. Whether you are seeking hope, guidance, reassurance, or simply a quiet moment with God, we pray that each week’s devotional will help you grow in faith and discover that you never walk through life alone.

If Faith Was a Car: Trusting God on the Journey

Have you ever wondered what your faith would look like if it were a car?

Would it be a brand-new car, ready for adventure? An old but reliable vehicle that has travelled thousands of miles? Or perhaps a car sitting at the roadside because something has gone wrong?

It might sound like an unusual comparison, but our faith journey has much in common with a journey by car.

A car is designed to take us somewhere. Faith is designed to move us closer to God.

Hebrews 11:1

Is Your Faith Fuelled?

Every car needs fuel. No matter how expensive or powerful it is, eventually it will stop without it.

Our faith needs fuel too.

Prayer, Scripture, worship and fellowship help strengthen us spiritually. We can become so busy caring for everyone else that we forget to care for our own relationship with God.

Romans 10:17

Perhaps your faith isn’t broken. Perhaps you simply need to stop and refuel.

Check the Warning Lights

Cars have warning lights to tell us when something needs attention.

Our spiritual lives can have warning signs too.

Perhaps you are exhausted, anxious, losing your peace, struggling to pray or feeling distant from God. These things should not simply be ignored.

Psalm 139:23-24

Sometimes God uses these moments to encourage us to stop, examine our hearts and return to Him.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Stopping does not mean you have failed. Sometimes stopping is exactly what we need.

The Road Will Have Potholes

Faith does not guarantee a smooth road.

There will be difficult circumstances, unexpected problems, disappointments and seasons when we wonder where God is.

John 16:33

But difficult roads do not mean God has abandoned us.

There may be times when we cannot understand what God is doing. We may only see the pothole directly in front of us while God sees the entire journey.

Romans 8:28

What If You Take a Wrong Turning?

Even the best drivers sometimes take the wrong road.

Thankfully, modern navigation systems can recalculate.

Our mistakes do not have to be the end of our faith journey either.

Peter denied Jesus, yet Jesus restored him and gave him a purpose.

John 18:15-27

John 21:15-19

If you have taken a wrong turning, turn back towards God. His grace is greater than your failures.

Proverbs 24:16

You Don’t Need to See the Whole Road

When driving at night, your headlights do not show you the entire journey. They show enough of the road to keep moving.

Faith is often like that.

We want to know what tomorrow holds. God asks us to trust Him today.

Psalm 119:105

2 Corinthians 5:7

You do not need to see the whole road when you know who is guiding you.

Keep Going

So, if faith was a car, what condition would yours be in today?

Does it need refuelling?

Are warning lights flashing?

Have you taken a wrong turning?

Do you need to slow down?

Whatever your answer, remember this: God has not asked you to drive the entire journey alone.

Sometimes you need to stop. Sometimes you need to change direction. Sometimes you need encouragement from someone travelling alongside you.

But don’t give up.

Galatians 6:9

Faith is not about having a perfect journey or a perfect vehicle.

It is about trusting a perfect God.

Keep travelling with Him, one mile, one day and one step at a time.
