Prayer for Students Preparing for Exams

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with grateful hearts, knowing that You are the source of all wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Your Word says in James 1:5 that if anyone lacks wisdom, they should ask You, and You give generously to all without finding fault. So today, we lift up every student preparing for exams.

Lord, calm every anxious heart and quiet every fearful thought. Where there is stress, bring peace. Where there is doubt, speak confidence. Remind them of Your promise in Isaiah 41:10: “Do not fear, for I am with you… I will strengthen you and help you.”

Grant them clarity of mind as they study. Help them to understand what they learn, retain what they study, and recall it when they need it most. Strengthen their focus, discipline, and perseverance in these days of preparation.

Father, when they feel overwhelmed, remind them that they are not alone. Let Your presence bring comfort and reassurance. As it says in Philippians 4:6–7, may they bring their worries to You, and may Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds.

On the day of their exams, fill them with calm confidence. Help them to read each question carefully, think clearly, and respond wisely. Let their hard work bear fruit, and may they trust You with the outcome.

Above all, remind them that their worth is not defined by grades, but by Your love.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

🌿✨ Easter Message from Christian Life Today ✨🌿

This Easter, we pause to remember the greatest victory in history—the resurrection of Jesus Christ. What looked like defeat on the cross became the triumph of life, hope, and eternal promise.

Because He lives, we are not bound by fear, failure, or the past. Because He rose, we have new life, fresh hope, and a future secured in Him.

📖 “He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.” — Matthew 28:6

May this Easter fill your heart with peace, renew your faith, and remind you that no darkness can overcome the light of Christ.

🌅 He is risen. He is alive. And He is with you.

🙏 Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for the cross and the empty tomb. Thank You for the gift of new life. Help us to walk in the power of Your resurrection every day. Amen.

Prayer for Jessie Jackson

Prayer of Thanksgiving and Rest

Loving and gracious God,
We come before You with thankful hearts and quiet spirits as we remember Jessie Jackson. We thank You for the gift of his life, for the work he did, and for the ways he served, helped, and influenced others. Thank You for every act of kindness, every word of encouragement, and every moment where his life reflected care, commitment, and purpose.

Lord, we entrust Jessie into Your eternal peace. May he now rest from his labour, surrounded by Your light, mercy, and love. We give thanks for the legacy he leaves behind — the seeds he planted, the lives he touched, and the good that continues because of his faithfulness and effort.

Be especially close to those who mourn today. Comfort family, friends, and all who feel the weight of loss. Grant them Your peace that surpasses understanding, and the assurance that nothing done in love is ever lost in You.

May gratitude rise alongside our grief, and hope stand firm even in sorrow. We place our trust in Your promise of life beyond death, and we give You praise for a life that mattered.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Walking Forward with Christ: Entering the New Year Anchored in Hope

More Than a Calendar Change

As one-year closes and another begins, the world is full of noise—resolutions, promises of reinvention, and pressure to “do better” or “be more.” Yet for the Christian, the New Year is not primarily about self-improvement, but about deeper surrender, renewed trust, and faithful walking with Jesus.

Scripture reminds us that our hope does not rest in fresh starts alone, but in the unchanging faithfulness of God.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, NIV)

We walk into the New Year not alone, not uncertain of who leads us, but accompanied by Christ Himself. The question is not what will this year bring? but how will we walk with Jesus through whatever comes?

Remembering Who Walks With Us

Before we plan, set goals, or make resolutions, we must remember who walks beside us.

Throughout Scripture, God reveals Himself as One who walks with His people:

  • God walked with Adam in the garden (Genesis 3:8)
  • God walked with Israel in the wilderness (Exodus 13:21)
  • Jesus walked with the disciples on dusty roads (Luke 24:15)
  • The risen Christ walks among His churches (Revelation 1:13)

“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:8, NIV)

Entering a New Year can stir fear—fear of the unknown, fear of loss, fear of repeating past mistakes. But Scripture assures us that God does not abandon His people at the threshold of uncertainty. He goes before us.

Walking with Jesus does not mean we know the route; it means we trust the Guide.

Leaving What Is Behind Without Denying It

The New Year invites reflection. Some memories bring gratitude; others bring grief, regret, or pain. Walking forward with Christ does not mean pretending the past didn’t happen—it means placing it in His hands.

Paul writes:

“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal…” (Philippians 3:13–14, NIV)

“Forgetting” here does not mean erasing memory; it means refusing to live under its power. Jesus invites us to bring the weight of the past—sins confessed, wounds acknowledged, losses mourned—and allow Him to redeem them.

“If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17, NIV)

A New Year is not about becoming someone else; it is about living more fully as who we already are in Christ.

Walking Daily, Not Dramatically

Many Christians begin the New Year with spiritual enthusiasm—Bible plans, prayer goals, bold commitments. These are good, but discipleship is not sustained by dramatic moments alone. It is sustained by daily, faithful walking.

“Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” (Galatians 5:25, NIV)

Walking implies:

  • Pace, not sprinting
  • Direction, not perfection
  • Consistency, not intensity

Jesus never called His disciples to run ahead of Him—only to follow.

“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23, NIV)

The New Year invites us to ask: What would it look like to follow Jesus one faithful step at a time this year?

Learning to Trust God with the Unknown

The future is unknown to us, but it is not unknown to God.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105, NIV)

Notice that God promises light for the next step, not the entire journey. Faith grows when we learn to trust God with what we cannot see.

James reminds believers:

“You do not even know what will happen tomorrow… Instead, you ought to say, ‘If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.’” (James 4:14–15, NIV)

Walking with Jesus into a New Year means surrendering our illusion of control and embracing dependence. It is learning to pray not just “Lord, bless my plans,” but “Lord, shape my desires.”

Walking in Repentance and Renewal

Every new beginning with God involves repentance—not as shame, but as grace-filled turning.

“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” (Acts 3:19, NIV)

The New Year is an invitation to spiritual honesty:

  • Where have we grown distant?
  • Where have we relied on ourselves instead of God?
  • Where have we resisted the Spirit’s work?

God does not demand perfection to walk with Him—He invites humility.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9, NIV)

True renewal begins not with resolutions, but with repentance that opens the door to refreshing.

Walking in Hope, Not Fear

Fear often accompanies the future, but Scripture consistently calls God’s people to walk by faith, not fear.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7, NIV)

Christian hope is not optimism; it is confidence in God’s promises.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13, NIV)

Walking into the New Year with Jesus means choosing hope even when circumstances are uncertain. Hope anchors us not in outcomes, but in God’s character.

Walking Together as the Body of Christ

Faith was never meant to be walked alone.

“Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds… encouraging one another.” (Hebrews 10:24–25, NIV)

As we enter a New Year, we are reminded that community is part of discipleship. We need encouragement, accountability, prayer, and shared worship.

Walking with Jesus includes walking alongside His people—bearing one another’s burdens and celebrating one another’s joys.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2, NIV)

Walking with an Eternal Perspective

The New Year is not just another chapter—it is part of a greater story.

“For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.” (Hebrews 13:14, NIV)

Christians walk forward knowing that this life is not the destination. Our hope extends beyond this year, beyond our circumstances, into eternity with Christ.

“I am making everything new!” (Revelation 21:5, NIV)

This eternal hope gives meaning to every step we take now.

Conclusion: One Step at a Time with Jesus

As we step into the New Year, Jesus does not ask us to have it all figured out. He asks us to walk with Him.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5–6, NIV)

Whether the year ahead brings joy or sorrow, growth or challenge, certainty or mystery, one truth remains: Jesus walks with us.

So, we enter the New Year not striving, but trusting.
Not alone, but accompanied.
Not fearful, but hopeful.

One faithful step at a time.

Lord Jesus, as we step into this New Year, we place our lives in Your hands. Lead us where You will, teach us to trust You daily, and help us walk faithfully in Your ways. Renew our hearts, strengthen our faith, and anchor our hope in You alone. Amen.

Happy New Year, thank you all for your support.

God bless.

Christmas Blessing
from Christian Life Today

May the peace proclaimed by the angels
and the hope born in Bethlehem
fill your heart this Christmas.

“As the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid.
I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.
Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you;
he is the Messiah, the Lord.’”
(Luke 2:10–11)

May you know afresh the grace of God revealed in Jesus Christ—
God with us, God for us, God among us.
May His light shine in every dark place,
His love strengthen every weary soul,
and His truth anchor you firmly in faith.

As we celebrate the birth of our Saviour,
may your home be filled with thanksgiving,
your life shaped by Christ’s humility and love,
and your witness reflect the hope of the gospel
to a world that longs for peace.

“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favour rests.”
(Luke 2:14)

With every Christmas blessing in Christ,

2-year anniversary

On December 26th 2025 marks the 2nd anniversary of Christian Life Today, and what an incredible journey it has been. As I look back over these past two years, my heart is filled with gratitude and awe at everything God has done.

First and foremost, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to every person who has supported, shared, prayed for, and engaged with Christian Life Today. Your encouragement and participation have helped this ministry grow far beyond anything I could have imagined. Truly, without your support, none of this would have been possible.

By God’s grace, Christian Life Today has now been visited by people from 81 different countries. It is humbling to see how far the message has reached, and it reminds me that the Gospel continues to unite hearts across borders, cultures, and backgrounds.

One of the greatest honours of this journey has been seeing some of our work used by Care for the Family at their two national conferences. To have our content recognised and shared with other Christians on such a large platform was both deeply encouraging and a testament to how God can use even the smallest seeds we sow for His glory.

As we celebrate this milestone, I am reminded that this is only the beginning. I am excited for what lies ahead and committed to continuing to serve, inspire, and equip believers in their daily walk with Christ.

Thank you for being part of the Christian Life Today family. Here’s to all God has done—and all He will continue to do in the years to come.

Thank you for being part of our community

Sunday 9th November 2025

Today, we pause to remember. Not just those who fought in the past, but those who serve today — at home and overseas — standing for peace, safety, and freedom. We remember real people, not just names: sons and daughters, parents and friends, whose courage and sacrifice have shaped the lives we live now. And we honour the families who carry quiet worry and pride every day. Remembrance is our promise that we will not forget. We will honour the fallen, support the wounded, and value those who serve in our time. With respect, gratitude, and hope for the future — we will remember them.

🎉

Congratulations to everyone receiving GCSE results today!

🎉

Whether you received the grades you hoped for or things didn’t turn out exactly as planned, remember this: your worth is not defined by exam results. God sees you, He loves you, and He has a plan for your future.

📖

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11 If you’re celebrating great results today, give thanks to God and use the opportunities He has opened for you. If you feel disappointed, don’t lose heart—God often works in ways we don’t expect, and sometimes closed doors lead to even greater blessings.

📖

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28 Your journey is not over—this is just the beginning. Results day is one step on the path, but God is guiding you every step of the way.

📖

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5–6 So whether today brings joy or tears, hold on to this truth: God has you exactly where He needs you, and His timing is perfect.

🙏

Keep trusting Him, and watch how His big plans for your life unfold.

Our Prayer for D-Day

Heavenly Father,
On this day of remembrance, we lift our hearts in gratitude for the brave souls who stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. We remember their courage, their sacrifice, and their unwavering commitment to freedom.

Lord, we thank You for the strength You gave them in the face of fear. We honour their memory and ask that their legacy never be forgotten. May we learn from their example—to stand firm in truth, to fight for justice, and to value peace.

We pray for all veterans, past and present, and for the families who bore the weight of war. Grant them comfort and healing.
We also pray for peace in our world today. Where there is conflict, bring reconciliation. Where there is hatred, sow love.

As Scripture says,
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13
May we never take such love for granted.

Guide us, O Lord, to be peacemakers in Your name.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.

Prayer for Liverpool

Merciful God,

We come before You with heavy hearts after the devastating events in Liverpool. We lift up every person injured, every family grieving, and all who witnessed the pain and chaos. Lord, bring healing to the wounded, peace to the fearful, and strength to the responders who acted with courage and compassion.

We pray for those who are hospitalised—grant them swift and complete recovery. For those shaken in spirit, wrap them in Your loving presence. Comfort those who mourn, and help this city to stand together in unity and love, refusing to be overcome by fear or hatred.

We ask for wisdom and justice as authorities seek the truth behind this tragedy. May peace prevail, and may hope rise even in the face of darkness.

In Jesus’ name we pray,

Amen.

VE Day

Today, on Victory in Europe (VE) Day, Christian Life Today joins the nation in remembering and giving thanks for the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of those who fought and served during the Second World War.

We honour the men and women who gave their lives for freedom, and we remember the deep cost of war. We give thanks to God for the peace that was secured, and we pray for continued peace and reconciliation in our world today.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:13)

Let us never forget their legacy and let us live in a way that honours their sacrifice—with gratitude, compassion, and hope.
