This Refund, Cancellation and Promotional Services Policy applies to promotional services offered by Christian Life Today to authors, publishers and other organisations wishing to promote Christian books through our website and associated channels.
By purchasing or requesting a promotional service, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these terms.
1. Purpose of This Policy
Christian Life Today provides opportunities for authors and publishers to introduce their books to our readership.
Promotional services may include, depending on the package selected:
• A promotional listing on the Christian Life Today website

• Author information
• Book cover or other authorised promotional images

• Promotion through selected Christian Life Today communication channels, where included
• Other promotional opportunities specifically described at the time of purchase
The exact service provided will depend on the package purchased.
2. Promotion Is Not an Endorsement
Payment for promotion does not constitute an independent review, theological endorsement or recommendation by Christian Life Today.
The inclusion of a book, author or publisher on our website should not be interpreted as confirmation that Christian Life Today agrees with every theological, political, social or other viewpoint expressed within the book.
We reserve the right to make this distinction clear wherever promotional material appears.
3. No Guarantee of Results
Promotional services are provided to increase awareness and provide an opportunity for authors and publishers to introduce their books to potential readers.
However, Christian Life Today does not guarantee:
• A specific number of views
• Website traffic
• Book sales
• Downloads
• Reviews
• Social-media engagement
• Newsletter engagement
• Search-engine rankings
• Bestseller status
• Increased followers
• Increased income
• Any other particular commercial or promotional result
A promotion that does not generate the expected level of interest or sales does not, by itself, entitle the purchaser to a refund where the agreed service has been provided.
4. Payment
Where a promotional service carries a fee, the applicable price will be clearly stated before payment.
Payment must normally be received before promotional work begins or before the promotion is published.
Christian Life Today reserves the right to withhold publication until payment has been successfully received.
5. Submission and Approval
Payment does not automatically guarantee publication.
All promotional submissions are subject to review and approval by Christian Life Today.
We reserve the right to refuse a submission where we consider that the material:
• Is unsuitable for Christian Life Today
• May be unlawful
• May infringe copyright or another person’s rights
• Contains misleading or unsupported claims
• Contains defamatory material
• Contains discriminatory or hateful material
• Is inconsistent with our safeguarding requirements
• Is inappropriate for our readership
• Conflicts with our editorial standards
• Creates an unreasonable legal or reputational risk
• Has been submitted without the necessary permissions
Where payment has been received but we are unable to provide the agreed promotional service, we will normally provide an appropriate refund, subject to any services already supplied and any applicable statutory rights.
6. Cancellation Before the Service Begins
If you cancel your promotional order before Christian Life Today has started providing the service, you may be entitled to a refund.
Where you are purchasing as a consumer, any cancellation rights provided by UK consumer law will apply.
If you have specifically requested that work begins before the end of any applicable cancellation period, the amount refundable may depend upon the work already completed and the rights available to you under applicable law.

10. Changes to Promotional Material
Authors and publishers are responsible for ensuring that the information they provide is accurate and current.
We may make reasonable editorial, formatting or technical changes to submitted material to ensure that it works appropriately on our website.
We may request amendments where necessary before publication.
Significant changes requested by the purchaser after publication may not be possible or may require additional charges where applicable.
11. Copyright and Permission
By submitting material to Christian Life Today, you confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions to allow us to use that material for promotional purposes.
This includes, where applicable:
• Book covers
• Author photographs
• Promotional graphics
• Written descriptions
• Extracts
• Quotations
• Logos
• Biographical information
• Other supplied promotional material
You remain responsible for ensuring that the material does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other rights.
Christian Life Today reserves the right to remove material where a legitimate rights complaint is received.
12. Accuracy of Information
The author, publisher or organisation submitting the promotion is responsible for ensuring that all information supplied is accurate.
This includes information concerning:
• The author
• The book
• Price
• Availability
• Publisher
• ISBN
• Publication date
• Awards
• Reviews
• Testimonials
• Qualifications
• Claims made about the book
Christian Life Today does not accept responsibility for inaccurate information supplied by an author, publisher or other third party.
13. Reviews and Testimonials
Paid promotional material must not be presented as an independent review.
Where reviews, testimonials or endorsements are supplied, the person submitting them must ensure that they are genuine and that appropriate permission has been obtained for their use.
Christian Life Today may decline to publish testimonials or endorsements that cannot reasonably be verified or that appear misleading.
14. External Websites and Retailers
Promotional material may contain links to external websites, including an author’s website, publisher, bookseller or online retailer.
Christian Life Today is not responsible for the operation, content, availability, pricing, delivery, returns, refunds or customer service of third-party websites.
Any purchase made through an external website is subject to that website’s own terms and conditions.
15. Affiliate Links and Commission
Where Christian Life Today receives a commission through an affiliate link associated with a book, this will be disclosed where required.
An affiliate relationship does not mean that Christian Life Today has independently reviewed or endorsed the book.

Unless otherwise stated, Christian Life Today does not guarantee that promotional material will remain permanently available on the website.
