How To Share The Gospel

Why share the Gospel and to whom?

Share the gospel with people who are unaware of Jesus.

Give those in prison, in assisted living facilities, and in hospitals encouragement.

Change people’s lives.

How?

  • Talk in familiar terms – Make use of language and situations that your audience can relate to. Use local analogies to create a real connection with listeners, much like Paul did at Lystra (Acts 14:5).
  • Understand the cultural context – Recognise the values, beliefs, and customs of the area. To effectively connect, tailor your message to the cultural context of your audience, just as Paul did at Athens in Acts 17:22–23.
  • Preach the central message – Remain focused on Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection. In order to keep the central point clear, Paul avoided using excessive language and instead concentrated on Christ’s crucifixion. 1 Corinthians 2:2
  • Assess and modify – Examine the reaction of your audience and modify your approach, as necessary. To increase receptivity, check reactions and modify your message, just as Paul did at Berea Acts 17:11.
  • Focus on the Holy Spirit’s power – Let your preaching be strengthened and guided by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gave the apostles the ability to communicate in a foreign language and establish cultural connections at Pentecost (Acts 2).
  • Be sensitive and respectful – Presenting the Gospel should consider regional customs and beliefs. Change your strategy to respect the cultural setting and refrain from needless offenses, just like Paul did at Ephesus Acts 19.
  • Make use of testimonials and personal narratives – Tell your own stories and testimony to demonstrate the gospel’s transformative impact. In Acts 9:3-6, Paul recounted his own experience travelling to Damascus to testify to the significance of his meeting with Christ.
  • A clear message – Avoid spontaneity and have a planned, understandable message. (1 Corinthians 2:1)
  • Continuous prayer – Before, during, and after sharing the gospel, keep a prayerful mindset. (1 Corinthians 5:17). Request that the Lord get your heart prepared.
  • The actions of compassion – Provide for their bodily and spiritual needs so that, like Jesus, you might share the gospel with others. (See Matthew 9:36.)
  • Key locations – Go where people are in need of spiritual support and are willing to listen. Mark 16:15
